How I Kicked My Sinus Infection in 48hrs!

As some of you may remember, I was dying from a sinus infection that started on Monday. Between the stuffy nose, congestion, sore throat, and slight fever, I was in no shape to work. 

I stuck out the day only to go home and lay in bed all night before passing out (thank you NyQuil)! 

Some of the methods I chose to utilize for fast recovery:

  • Peppermint tea
    • Lemon
    • Honey
  • Sudafed
  • Daily Restore Body probiotic 
  • Skipping the gym
  • Lots of sleep

The menthol in peppermint helps in sinus problems by calming inflamed mucos membranes in the sinuses and throat by thinning the mucus so it is less likely to block the passageways. I also like to add in honey to soothe my sore throat and it acts as a cough suppressant too! 

The Sudafed is a decongestant that acts on the nasal passage to narrow the blood vessels in the nose and sinus region that causes congestion. 

Anytime you are taking a decongestant – make sure you keep hydrated because it is ultimately drying out the mucus! So avoid caffeine or coffee if you can! 

The Daily Body Restore is a probiotic supplement that works to help restore you body’s good bacteria and supports immune and digestive health. It has been proven to improve the absorption of nutrition from food. This provides long-term nourishment benefits, increased mental clarity, and energy! 

Their products were originally developed by DBR™’s founder, Kim Shafer for her family. She and her family had some health issues that certain enzymes and probiotics seemed to improve. The problem was that Kim had to buy multiple types of probiotics and digestive enzymes which was expensive and required taking a lot of supplements daily. Most if not all of those products had ingredients that Kim didn’t want. Ultimately a decision was made to formulate everything that she wanted but without artificial colors, flavors, dairy or gluten.

The digestive system has several parts working as a whole. In Kim’s opinion, absorbing nutrients from the food that we eat is as important as supplementing our good bacteria.

Enzymes Assist with Digestion of Proteins, Carbohydrates & Fats. She wanted to combine the multiple enzymes, two types of strains of probiotics (Lactobacillus & Bifidobacterium) and multiple species of both probiotic strains. Kim wanted to supplement good bacteria in the small and large intestines!

Ultimately, in order to get what she wanted required using 19 ingredients (10 Enzymes and 9 Probiotics)!

Even before I got sick I have been taking this probiotic daily with each meal. I can assure you I have recovered quicker due in part to living a healthy lifestyle and also knowing when to give my body time to rest. It’s ok to skip the gym if you’re feeling under the weather because you are giving your body time to recover and you’re also preventing getting other people sick at your expense!
