How to Look Effortless in Winter

The trick to pulling off an inexpensive-expensive-looking-look (say that 5 times fast) is all in how you style it. I never shop fast-fashion pieces because I know just as quickly it was popular it will be just as quick to fade. Now, don’t get me wrong there are a few trends I’m willing to partake in but for the most part I like to stick to a Capsule Wardrobe; a small variety of pieces I know I can grab-and-go and will always be fashionable. I will do another post on my Capsule Wardrobe but for now, my current winter looks consist of: a comfy sweater, black leggings, knee high boots with the occasional addition of a scarf, and a red lip to top it off.

This is my go-to winter wardrobe because it’s easy for me to get up in the morning and get dressed without rifling through drawers and waking my boyfriend to look for the perfect outfit. When you already know what is in your closet it makes it that much easier deciding what to wear in the morning. The best way to edit you closet is to look for KEY pieces  that can be worn multiple ways and for multiple occasions.
This sweater can be worn in the spring with a leather pencil skirt to work and I can still wear the knee highs or swap them out with ankle booties.
The red lip is a classic go-to when you’re running late and don’t have time for a full face or just when you want to add a little extra something. It’s also a great transition from work to happy hour!
The scarf can be worn over a tank top with a leather jacket for an edgier look and it doubles as a blanket when traveling!
